Former Physician Accused of Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing assaults against 38 victims who were patients.
The Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
