Liverpool's Star Offers Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad after the fallout from his recent interview.
What Happened
He was omitted from a vital match after criticising the club and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has refused to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the team's response stayed normal. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
He also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I understand there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the interview fallout. He feels the outburst were not designed to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a good place,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and on a positive run.”
