Some deaths in detention have been publicly known, for instance a 50-year-old healthcare leader who perished in detention after four months in custody.

An inmate detained alongside the individual testified that he was led to the yard by correctional officers just prior to his death, clearly wounded and exposed from the waist down. His corpse has not been repatriated to Gaza.
