The former Brazilian leader has been arrested after authorities found he posed a concrete flight risk while under domestic detention.

The ex-president was found guilty of plotting a military coup in September and sentenced more than over two decades in prison, but he remained under home detention pending legal challenges.

This involved attempting to break his ankle monitor and a summons to a public vigil that could enable a possible escape.
